August 3 is day 215 of the year (216 in a leap year). The Sun is then roughly 12° into Leo, 20 days before it moves into Virgo, which places your birthday in the second of the sign’s three decans.
Leo, second decan
Leo’s middle decan picks up the adventurous optimism of Sagittarius and spreads the Sun’s radiance a little wider. You are Leo with a wanderer’s grin. You tend to dream big, laugh loudly, and treat life as a grand adventure worth narrating. Learning, travel, and philosophy excite you as much as applause does. Your optimism inspires people, though sometimes you promise more than time allows. Still, your enthusiasm opens doors that cautious people never notice.
Born on the 3rd: birthday number 3
A 3rd birthday links you to the number of self-expression, and words, color, and humor come naturally to you. You can turn an ordinary errand into a story worth retelling at dinner. Doodles fill your margins. People are drawn to your lightness, and you often become the connector of your social circle. Ideas arrive in bunches, sometimes faster than you can finish them. Your challenge is depth: choosing a few projects and staying with them long enough for your talent to really show.
Your birthday number is 3: The Communicator. Think of your 3 as a splash of color mixed into a bigger painting. Your life path number, the sum of the day, month and year you were born shrunk to one digit, is the canvas. Your playful, talkative side may lead that story, or simply add the sparkle. Calculate your life path number.
Your birth tarot cards
Strength, the card of Leo. The pairing is almost literal: a figure calmly holding a lion’s jaws shows courage that comes from warmth, not force. The Golden Dawn saw in it the sign’s big heart, confidence and gentle command.
Six of Wands, the card of your decan (Jupiter in Leo in the Golden Dawn system). Accept recognition with gratitude and stay grounded.
The Empress, the card of your day number. Surrounded by ripe wheat and a flowing stream, it is the card of growth, comfort and creative abundance. It suggests a talent for helping ideas, gardens and people flourish. Look after yourself the way you look after the people and projects you love.

Career and purpose
Teaching, travel, publishing, coaching, media, and global business let you mix vision with inspiration. Big ideas sound irresistible when you pitch them. Pair that visionary drive with practical planning so ambitious projects reach the finish line.
Writing, teaching, sales, performance, social media, and anything that rewards a good pitch suit you. Variety keeps your energy high. A simple system for deadlines helps your bright ideas become finished, visible work.
Born in August
August stretches out lazy and golden, with county fairs, thunderstorms rolling in at sunset and the first back-to-school sales reminding everyone that summer has an ending. Peridot’s bright lime green captures that late-season glow, alongside spinel and sardonyx, while gladiolus and poppies stand tall in gardens that have reached their peak.
