How Yes or No Tarot works
You ask one closed question, choose a card from the fan, and the card answers: YES, NO or MAYBE. Each of the 78 tarot cards carries its own energy. The Sun, The Star or The World lean toward yes; The Tower and The Devil lean toward no; The Moon or The Hermit leave the question open.
You pick the card yourself. The deck is reshuffled every time, and roughly one card in four comes out reversed. A reversed card weakens its energy, so a yes can soften into a maybe.
How to ask a good question
- One thing at a time. “Will I get this job?” works better than “What about my job and him?.”
- A question that can be answered yes or no. For example: “Is it worth reaching out to them this week?.”
- Ask about yourself. Cards speak more clearly about what you can do than about what someone else thinks.
- Don’t repeat the question right away. If the answer doesn’t sit right, rephrase it or come back to it tomorrow.
What the answers mean
YES: the circumstances are on your side and the card encourages you to act. NO: probably not the right moment, or the path leads somewhere else. MAYBE: the outcome depends on your choices or on things that haven’t become clear yet.
For questions about health, the cards don’t give a yes or no answer. They show a card only as a starting point for reflection. Decisions about health, money or legal matters should always rest on facts and on a conversation with a qualified professional.
Frequently asked questions
Is Yes or No Tarot free?
Yes. The draw and the full interpretation are free and don’t require an account.
How is a yes or no reading different from a regular spread?
A yes or no reading answers one closed question with one card. A spread such as past, present and future looks at the situation more broadly.
How do I ask a good question?
Ask about one specific thing that can be answered yes or no, for example “Is this a good time to ask for a raise?.” Questions about your own actions work better than questions about what someone else thinks.
What does MAYBE mean?
The card doesn’t point clearly in one direction. The outcome depends on your choices or on things that haven’t become clear yet.
Does a reversed card change the answer?
Yes. A reversed card weakens its energy, so a YES can become a MAYBE and a MAYBE can become a NO.
