The two cards on their own
The Magician
You already have the tools you need; now it is about using them with focus. Keywords: willpower, skill, making it happen.
Reversed, The Magician warns of talent left unused or energy scattered in too many directions. It can also point to someone who is saying the right things for the wrong reasons, so look at actions, not just words.
The Lovers
A meaningful bond and a choice made from the heart and in line with your values. Keywords: love, choice, harmony.
Reversed, The Lovers points to imbalance in a relationship, mixed signals or a decision you keep avoiding. Sometimes the conflict is inside you: you want two things that can't both be true.
Reading a combination
A pair of cards is more than two meanings added together. Notice which card came first, which one is in a stronger position in your spread and whether either is reversed. If the combination feels heavier than your situation, read it as a warning to pay attention rather than as a verdict. Tarot is a tool for reflection: it can’t decide for you or predict what another person will do. For more, read our guide to tarot card combinations.
